UK govt. source: We shall have to see on pre-Christmas election

According to Reuters, citing a senior government source, the UK will ultimately leave the EU on the terms of Johnson's Brexit deal. The source was further quoted saying that we shall have to see on the pre-Christmas election.
 
The comments did little to influence the British Pound, or provide any meaningful impetus to the GBP/USD major, which struggled to gain any follow-through traction and was last seen hovering around the 1.2900 handle.
