US stocks fell amid China worries

FXStreet (San Francisco) - Wall Street declined on Monday as investors are concerned amid news that say China will not boost economy with extra liquidity.

The Dow Jones fell 107.06 points or 0.62% to finish at 17,172.68; the S&P 500 eased 16.11 pts or 0.80% to 1,994.29; while the Nasdaq Composite lost 52.10 pts or 1.14% to 4,527.69.

Valeria Bednarik, chief analyst at FXStreet explained that it was a quiet Monday across the forex board, yet pretty different among commodities and stocks, with indexes in Europe and the US broadly lower, and gold and oil trading at year lows.

GBP/USD rises modestly on Monday

Cable is about to end Monday with a 70-pips gain, trading near the highs, against the US dollar. Price action moved most of the day sideways and GBP/USD climbed back toward the highs during the American session.
