GBP/JPY climbs above 178.00, highest since Oct 2008
FXStreet (Córdoba) - Cable is rising strongly against the yen for the second day in a row. GBP/JPY has risen more than 400 pips during the last two days. Hours ago broke above 178.00 and climbed to 178.34, reaching the strongest level in almost six years.
During the last hours GBP/JPY has been consolidating gains and is headed toward the first close since October 3, 2008 above 178.00 after starting a dramatic rally last week. From September 8 lows it has risen almost a thousand pips.
Waiting for results
Eyes lie over the results of the Scottish referendum. Expectations about “no” winning has supported the recent rally of the pound. During Friday’s Asian session official results are expected.
